Just checking to see if there are like-minded friends out there to inspire me with their love of homesteading, natural parenting, growing their own food, sewing, baby-wearing, beekeeping, love of animals, and the like... Anybody out there that's reading this blog? I would just love some inspiration and to share new ideas (or old ideas but new to me) :) and really just to enjoy the company of such amazing people! Of course I also know this is only my fourth post! But just wondering if anybody is reading...
Happy Friday!!!
HI! I'm so happy you came to my blog! (how did you stumble upon?)
ReplyDeleteI would love to call myself a homesteader. I've been dreaming of a chunk of land ever since i moved off the farm I grew up on... after wwoofing, helping on many organic farms and gardens for years, we now have a chunk of this earth to ourselves! However small - it is a town lot. I am realizing that it is the perfect size for the moment tho!
we've been here 2 years and I have drastically transformed this yard into a tiny farm with yields of perennial fruit, veg and herbs, raised beds and a fast deteriorating lawn. and with big plans for next summer!! (this is my break from seed catalogs and permaculture textbooks!)
I hope to have some chickens next summer (if this small town will let me)
I'm learning to can, freeze, dry, store food. I sew, soap make, salve, cream... make, babywear, compost, cloth diaper, organic eat... bla bla bla.
and I have two little ones who contribute to me doing some of those things less and dreamily gazing upon them more for the moment!
and I really like your blog so far!! and look foreword to knowing more about you.
there are a kazillion aawesome blogs in this world that help even me who lives in a very conservative little prairie town feel not so alone and waaay too stimulated in the brain.
:0)
Hi Erin! Thank you so much for commenting!!
Delete(I'm sure your blog was a favorite of one of the blogs i frequently visit for inspiration!, Thats how i found you! And LOVE your style) :) It makes me happy that you took a moment from your seed catalogs to say Hi! I am trying very hard to BE a homesteader in this busy life we have and I dream every moment for the time to slow down and enjoy it! I really want some chickens too (soon hopefully!) :) this weekends project is to build a rabbit hutch so that i can get a rabbit (and fertilizer for my garden)! Two joys in one.
My little one inspires me as well. :)
Thanks for visiting. You sound like we very well enjoy the same things. Hopefully I can share my adventures here as I keep up with yours!! I like to know there are like-minded souls out there to inspire me as well.
Have a wonderful saturday!!!
:)
