fresh milk for everyone!

I have to admit, around here we LOVE goat milk!! It is so delicious and better than cow milk! Even the baby loves it!! And what's more fun than going out and milking the goat yourself?? You know it's fresh, you know it's pasteurized right, and you know it contains ZERO antibiotics or hormones! Besides all that it's free milk!(besides the upkeep of the goats of course, but that's just plain fun), giggle. Baby goats have to be the cutest things ever! :) I need to get better pics of the babies... And I wish I had taken one of me milking but it's kinda hard to milk and take pics lol. Ok Next time...

Home-making it work.

I am so lovin' my new detergent! Whipped these amazing bottles of goodness up the other day and just wanted to share! Because I am totally in love with it. Why? Number 1: Because it was so easy to make. Number 2: Incredibly freaking cheap! Number 3: It works great and it made A LOT!! I won't have to buy any ever again. Yep. Pretty much. This just makes me so excited to make that little dollar go so far! I literally made SIX bottles for the price I would have paid for one. And I can do that over and over again before I even have to go back to the store for any more ingredients. It's genius. Why haven't I done this before?? Geez... I had no idea it would be so cheap to make so much! And bonus: It smells delicious! :) *all credit for the recipe itself goes to the wonderful, amazing Duggar family.

Who calls themselves a homesteader??

Just checking to see if there are like-minded friends out there to inspire me with their love of homesteading, natural parenting, growing their own food, sewing, baby-wearing, beekeeping, love of animals, and the like... Anybody out there that's reading this blog? I would just love some inspiration and to share new ideas (or old ideas but new to me) :) and really just to enjoy the company of such amazing people! Of course I also know this is only my fourth post! But just wondering if anybody is reading...

A favorite saying, but such wise words I would like to NOT ponder..., my birthday is coming up waaay too fast.  Another year out, but it was good. Maybe this year will be just as well. It really isn't fun to grow up. What was I thinking all those  years?? If anyone has learned to live carefree please tell me how to do it! That is my goal for the year...to be a little less stressed. :)

It's Jan 1 2013!
So much happened in 2012 and now it is gone. Forever the past. Forever our history. Maybe we can remember the good times and forget the bad. Cherish those we have near and forever keep in our hearts the love of those we miss.
And so that being said, Here's to a better year!! Here's to a happier ME! I'm starting my year off eating cabbage rolls made with cabbage picked straight from my garden. Maybe I  will for sure be prosperous! haha! Maybe not necessarily in the sense financially, but maybe in the sense of life and happiness. For I am ready. Bring it!
